Takashi Harada Profile
Ondist, Composer; Takashi Harada is an internationally acclaimed Ondes Martenot player and composer. He studied piano with Keiko Toyama and Ondes Martenot with Jeanne Loriod at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, graduating with First Prize in 1982.
As a leading performer of the Ondes Martenot, Harada has premiered more than 200 works, including concertos and an oratorio, written especially for him or composed by himself. He has performed as a soloist with major orchestras around the world, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and NHK Symphony Orchestra, as well as at the Opéra Bastille in Paris in Messiaen’s Saint François d’Assise, at the composer’s request.
His numerous honors include the Idemitsu Music Award, Global Music Award, Hida-Furukawa Music Award, Yokohama Culture Award, and Diapason d’Or for his recording of Messiaen’s Turangalîla-Symphonie. His wide-ranging activities also include composition and performance in film, ballet, rock, jazz, and improvisation, with recordings released on labels including Victor, Fontec, and Decca. Chie Harada Profile
artist, painter, creative designer; Chie grew up in Japan, raised in an artist family.She has a BFA in Japanese painting from Musashino Art University. She also was trained in Japanese painting by the late Tamako Kataoka. Her paintings can be seen on orchestra fliers including for the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, costumes, hats and shoes, cutlery, books and magazines, Japan Post Co., Ltd. Eco-drive sticker design, Hamamatsu Museum of Musical Instruments – art / design, Christmas decorations, to name a few. She has done more than 15 solo exhibitions in Tokyo in Japan. Official Website
